Why Massage?

Massage therapy is a type of treatment in which a trained and certified medical professional manipulates the soft tissues of your body — muscle, connective tissue, tendons, ligaments and skin — using varying degrees of pressure and movement.

Studies of the benefits of massage demonstrate that it is an effective treatment for reducing stress, pain and muscle tension. Massage can improve your posture, breathing, flexibility, digestion and circulation. Muscles are stretched, inner organs toned and stress is reduced. You’ll often experience a deep sense of peace during and after a session.

Massage is generally considered part of complementary and integrative medicine. It's increasingly being offered along with standard treatment for a wide range of medical conditions and situations. Doctors may recommend massage therapy to help people cope with the pain and stress of cancer, heart disease, stomach problems, fibromyalgia or other conditions.

Types of Massage

Swedish massage technique is used to relax the entire body through rubbing the muscles with long gliding strokes in the direction of blood returning to the heart. Swedish massage ins't just for relaxation because it is exceptionally beneficial for increasing the level of oxygen in the blood, decreasing muscle toxins, improving circulation and flexibility while reducing stress.

Routine Swedish massage is an effective tool for stress reduction and in maintaining overall health and wellness. Studies by the National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine measured massage recipients and found reduced levels of the stress hormone cortisol and arginine vasopressin, another hormone that can lead to increased cortisol production.

In deep tissue, or trigger point massage therapy, your therapist uses cycles of isolated pressure and release on tight areas within your muscle tissue that causes pain in other parts of your body.
Trigger point massage helps you by releasing constricted areas in the muscles to alleviate pain. You can experience a significant decrease in pain after just one treatment.

In this type of massage, you'll actively participate with deep breathing in communicating the location and intensity of the discomfort. Routine deep tissue massage and trigger point therapy can help naturally manage pain and stress from chronic injuries.

Sports massage therapy is geared toward casual and pro athletes. Sports massage technique will focus on the areas of the body that are overused and stressed from repetitive and often aggressive movements from the athlete's sport of choice.


Many athletes incorporate sports massage therapy into their training regimen in preparation for events and to reduce recovery time for maximum performance during training or after an event. Sports massage promotes flexibility, reduces fatigue, improves endurance, helps prevent injuries and prepares their body and mind for optimal performance.

A unique benefit of sports massage therapy is its ability to target muscle-tendon junctions. The journal of Strength and Conditioning Research reported in a 2010 study that even a 30-second massage improved hip-flexor range of motion. A separate study reported by Margaret Jones, Ph.D. of the American College of Sports Medicine demonstrated a notable trend toward decreased muscle soreness in the athletes who received massage either before or after exercise.

New clients receive their first 60-minute Massage for just $59 (normally $82) or their first 90-minute massage for $84 (normally $115.)

Affordable Monthly Memberships

After your first massage appointment, you can purchase a monthly massage membership or purchase individual massage sessions.

A 60-minute membership is $64 per month and a 90-minute membership is $88 per month.

Both memberships provide one massage sesssion each month. If you don't use your session in the month, it stays in your account for 3 months so you can catch up in a future month.

If you'd like an additional massage in any month, a 60-minute add-on session is only $59 and a 90-minute add-on session is only $84.

If a monthly membership isn't right for you, you can purchase individual massages sessions for $82 (60-minute) or $115 (90-minute.)
